I made it too. I guess I wasn't the first to go through and find the oldest photo. I wasn't even the first to say I wasn't the first. How disappointing -- I was getting really excited to blog about about my discovery, thinking how the whole geeky internet will bow down to my great idea, but now that I see thousands have been here before me, I wonder if it's actually worth it. Meh, c'est la vie.
So Flickr must be about 3 years old. And, Marwei commented 2.9years ago. COOL. My Flickr account of 2 years expires in March. I didn't know I've been here for such a long time. I love this place. Time flies when you're having fun!
This photo was posted before Flickr was open to the public, though. The earliest photos are by developers then by friends of the developers then by the first users etc. The "official" Flickr launch date though I believe is February 14 (Valentines day) of 2004.

Oldest public pic... as far as we know.
four are my test pics, one is cat's photo of DP.
Umm, well, maybe not really.
ok, now i feel lame. there were people here before me! look at this mess!
i was just looking at magic number pics, then tried to find the earliest. at least i didn't count down by hundreds.. flickr makes it easy to jump.
anyway,
www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=8000000&size=s
is pretty fortuitous.
and this one is my birthday, which, it turns out, was accidentally taken with a kaleidescope in front of it:
www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=17101966&size=o
ok. um. now what?
