In many countries around the world, right now, Christians are being imprisoned, tortured and even killed for what they believe, forcing them to gather in secret church services under the cover of night.
Join us on September 9 at 5pm as we recreate an underground church experience, to identify with others around the world who don’t have the freedom that we enjoy, and to look at ways that we can help.
We’re now half way through the year, and if you’ve still got your Christmas decorations up, you might get away with it this weekend. Yes, Saturday Night is our Christmas in July celebration with a big dinner at the church. Bookings are essential, and there’s still time, so contact us if you’d like to come.
Chief Inspector Gary Raymond was a member of the NSW Police for 33 years. As a member of the Police Rescue Squad, Gary performed over 1,500 rescues and 200 suicide negotiations at heights. Gary performed duty at the Granville Train Disaster, Thredbo Landslide Disaster, the Newcastle Earthquake, Luna Park Ghost Train Fire and Hilton Hotel Bombing. Now leader of the Christian Police Association and a vibrant, inspirational speaker, we’re fortunate enough to have Gary speaking at BlueCross on Sunday morning.
Sunday night, BlueCross is going unplugged for a special acoustic service Rescued. It’s going to be a very special service so be sure not to miss this one, (and stick around afterwards for the coffee and donuts.)
This coming week, Tuesday July 10th, we’re having our mainly music session in the park. We’ll be at Brelsford Park in the centre of Coffs at 10 am. So just come along and look for us near the play equipment - there’ll be balloons. We can almost guarantee it won’t be as hot as our last mainly music in the park (what were we thinking in January?), but bring hats and sunscreen anyway.
Sunday morning was a very special African themed service, so of course, we bring you a very special African themed podcast.
Download it or use the player below to hear some of the highlights, including African singing, and a powerful message from Michael White who has just returned from a mission trip to Uganda.
Here’s a message about joy (not to be confused with mere happiness) from this morning’s service.
There’s been a few exciting changes to our services lately, with communion now part of the morning service, so it might be a good time to tell you a couple of things you might not know about what to expect when you come to BlueCross.
For example, our morning service now also includes a children’s church so the kids have their very own experience, with fun things to make and do while the adults enjoy Bible Solutions.
Of course, we love to see new people - did you know the first time you come to BlueCross, as well as having the time of your life, you get spoilt? That’s the idea behind our visitor’s lounge, which is up and running at both services. It’s a chance for you to get to know us a bit better over a cappaccino, cupachino fancy coffee, tea or a hot chocolate, so when you visit, be sure to stop by the lounge after the service.
